300 years ago an evil man came into power. He was the
12th emperor of the Sardonian empire, were the emperors were worshipped as
divine emissaries. Berenash was not content with belief in his divinity,
he wanted true power. Legend says that when mortals believe enough in the
truth of something this belief shapes reality. Berenash took steps
to obtain two objects, the Scepter and Crown of Her'Namearr two
objects said to hold the powers beyond imagination. With these items he
turned the adulation of his people into the reverence reserved only for Gods.
With this and the artifacts he held, he ascended into the ranks of the
divine.
The balance of the world was tipped, war ravaged the
land, famine swept the fields, and the world knew the meaning of
strife. Berenash, using the items he held and his new found
divinity, seized the powers of many of the minor gods of evil adding it to
his own. He was unopposed until both Sekoon, Greatest of the
gods of
The
world knew a new dark age lawlessness and starvation was the rule. It was
during this time that Corlann the Just led an exodus from the mainland.
These refugees left in search of new beginnings. They settled Dalsundria.
Now, in the year 256 FD, the lands of Dalsundria sit on the brink of civil
war. King Elgrel III lies dying. Prince Valsil, a corrupt and evil
man, and the kings only surviving son sits poised to take the throne.
Nobles rally to various factions and all wait for the dying king's last
breath.
